France: Jean d’Alembert International Fellowship - The Paris-Saclay Excellence Initiative aims to enable highly qualified foreign scientists to spend long periods of time (from 6 to 12 months) in one of the laboratories within its perimeter. Deadline 31 March 2017.

12th ITS European Congress - ITS Beyond Borders - 19-22 June 2017, Strasbourg, France, Strasbourg Convention Centre. The 12th ITS European Congress will take place from 19 to 22 June 2017 in Strasbourg. Under the theme “ITS Beyond Borders”, the Congress will focus on the people, intelligent mobility users, as every day hundreds of thousands of them are crossing the French-German border to live their daily lives.
Results of the MarcoPolo Project presented at Tsinghua University. Within the EU-funded projects MarcoPolo and Panda (2014-2017), Chinese and European institutes have worked together on a satellite-based air quality forecast and monitoring service. Results of the MarcoPolo project have been presented during a user workshop at Tsinghua University in Beijing on 1 and 2 March. Satellite observations are used to derive up-to-date emissions for China, which in turn are used in air quality modeling and forecasting. Seven models are combined in an ensemble forecast system providing accurate air quality information for China.

ERC funds 133 innovations arising from frontier research. Hundred thirty-three ERC grantees are bringing the results of their frontier research closer to the market thanks to Proof of Concept grants, awarded in three rounds of competition in 2016. The winners of the last round have been announced today. They will receive top-up funding to explore the innovation potential of their ERC-funded discoveries.
